Since my dad was an interior designer and owned a few antique shops that specialized in European antiques, I was immersed in the design world from a young age. I’d hang out in his design studio after school and watch people do renderings and organize all the fabric swatches and samples. When I got a little older, I started assisting him with projects, began attending antique shows and designer showcases, and went on annual buying trips in Paris and the South of France.
I’d always been enamored with fabulous parties and a few years later, I decided to explore that. I interned for a wedding planner one summer and was hired as the Wedding Sales Manager for a boutique hotel downtown where I oversaw 65 weddings per year. I loved the job and the couples I worked with, but noticed that the couples needed assistance beyond just what their coordinators were providing. Clients were asking me for design advice—which I loved—but it was beyond my normal role at the hotel. I saw a need in the marketplace and realized I wanted to nurture my creative side.
Soon after, I quit the hotel and Strawberry Milk Events & Styling was born. We handle all of the “nitty gritty” details and logistics, but what sets us apart is our design-centric approach and creativity. We love designing events that reflect our clients’ styles—each one different and special. In addition to designing weddings, we also focus on styling. We frequently style photoshoots for popular bridal magazines and hotels. One of our more recent magazine shoots took us all the way to magical Ireland, which was a blast.
