Today is National Lipstick Day, and our beauty-obsessed team is pretty excited about it! Whether we want to take our makeup from day to night or simply need something to brighten up our faces, we’ve found that lipstick is usually the perfect solution. While our collections are quite extensive, we each have go-to shades to which we’ve pledged our loyalty. Today, we’re sharing those favorites. Scroll down to check them out—and don’t forget to share yours in the comments!
Drugstore pick: FLOWER Beauty Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color in ‘Rose Bud’ ($7)—It’s a perfect shade for day or night, and I love the great price point.
High-end pick: MAC The Matte Lip Lipstick in ‘Heroine’ ($16)—I love a darker lip for evening. This shade looks gorgeous on all skin tones.
Drugstore pick: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in ‘Enticing’ ($6)—For summer, I love the idea of a light lip (not in terms of color but in terms of texture). Sometimes opaque lipsticks just seem too heavy for the warm weather. This balm has serious staying power, gives your lips a just-finished-a-popsicle stain, and smells like mint!
High-end pick: Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in ‘Zinfandel’ ($24)—Nothing says summer like a pop of coral. This pencil-like applicator is so easy to use. I like to blot the color a bit after applying so that it’s punchy without being overpowering.
Drugstore pick: Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in ‘Sorbet’ ($9)—The texture is smooth, the finish is semi-transparent and the coral-pink shade works for everyone!
High-end pick: Vapour Organic Beauty Siren Lipstick in ‘Coquette’ ($24)—This vibrant hue complements my medium-colored skin tone really well. I love the fact that it contains organic ingredients, too!
Drugstore pick: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor in ‘Cherries in the Snow’ ($8)—I always come back to this lipstick when I want to add a pop of color. It’s a bright pinkish red with blue undertones, which makes your teeth look extra white. It looks good on everyone!
High-end pick: Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion in ‘Wicked Sweet’ ($30)—This recent favorite of mine is such a pretty coral-pink color for spring and summer. It’s sure to pair perfectly with a tan!
Drugstore pick: Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolor in ‘Electric Orange’ ($5.50)—This saturated shade of orange provides a great way to step outside my comfort zone when I feel the need to turn up the heat in my beauty routine.
High-end pick: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 – Pure Colour Satiny Radiance in ’52’ ($36)—I love this bold red lipstick. It adds instant pizzazz to a classic LBD.
Drugstore pick: Revlon Matte Lipstick in ‘Strawberry Suede’ (this particular shade is currently out of stock)—A matte red that has a hint of coral.
High-end pick: ILIA Lipstick in ‘In My Room’ ($26)—This is my go-to pink lipstick. It’s not too bright; it has just enough color.
Drugstore pick: CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in ‘Bombshell Pink’ ($6)—I dab a light layer of this on almost every day. It instantly wakes up my entire face.
High-end pick: Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in ‘Mulberry’ ($24)—I’m always amazed at how smoothly this goes on. The color is so sophisticated, too.
Drugstore pick: L’Oréal Colour Riche Lipcolour in ‘Pink Flamingo’ ($8)
High-end pick: Tom Ford Lip Color Matte in ‘Electric Pink’ ($52)
Drugstore pick: L’Oréal Colour Riche Lipcolour in ‘Peach Fuzz’ ($7)—Dewy, creamy and peachy-hued, this is my go-to color of the summer. It’s ideal for anyone who appreciates a fresh-faced look and doesn’t like to get too wild with color.
