Abby Sterling is back with another breakdown of budget buys fit for your fall wardrobe. Trust us—you’ll definitely want to “Pin” this roundup for future reference!
It pains me a bit to say it, but summer is officially winding down (where does the time go?!). Though I’ll be sad to leave my brightly colored sundresses behind, I’m actually getting really excited for fall fashion. All month I’ve been looking for pieces that will help me transition my summer wardrobe into autumn. The following finds are all $50 and under—after all, I’ve got to start putting money toward my pumpkin spice latte fund!
Racing Stripe Faux Leather Clutch ($17.90): I’m in love with this clutch, which goes with anything brown, black or white in my closet. It reminds me of Clare V. clutches (but for a fraction of the price!).
Sleeveless Turtleneck Top ($9.99): I’m not sure it will be turtleneck weather for quite some time here in Southern California, but this sleeveless turtleneck top is a chic (and weather-appropriate!) way to embrace the trend.
1969 Denim Skirt Button Front ($49.95): I should’ve added a denim skirt to my wardrobe already, but fall is as good a time as any to do so! I’d wear this skirt bare-legged with loafers now, with booties at the beginning of fall and with stockings when the weather turns a bit cooler.
Cooperative Andie Flat ($29): These vegan leather flats look like an autumnal version of my favorite summer sandals, and they come in an array of gorgeous colors.
Herringbone Striped Scarf ($14): A deep-hued, lightweight scarf makes it easy to add a little touch of autumn to any outfit. And, as you can see, this scarf also goes well with a lot of my other budget buys this month!
Quilted Vest ($49.99): A vest is a great layering piece for fall—especially when it’s this chic! I love the suede detailing on this one. (It also comes in a khaki-green color.)
Suede Shorts ($49.90): I know that the idea of suede shorts probably doesn’t appeal to everyone, but shorts that come in thicker fabrics are a fall essential for a Southern Californian! I love the emerald color of this pair—I’d wear it with loafers now and then add stockings and booties later!
High Heel Court Shoe ($29.90): Try adding a pop of color to a neutral ensemble with a chic pair of rich-hued heels. These under-$30 stunners are a steal!
Oval Messenger Bag ($39.90): Chloé’s “Drew” bag has quickly become the “it” bag of the season, and while I love the beautifully structured purse, I do not love its price. This bag from Zara has a similar feel but it won’t break the bank!
Glamorous Shift Dress with Skinny Scarf Pussybow ($43): A shift dress is a great piece to have in your closet. I’m really loving the khaki-green color of this one from ASOS (it also comes in black). This would look so cute with a knit cardigan and some booties. I’d also layer a long-sleeved shirt under it when the weather gets colder.
Faux Marble Statement Necklace ($6.90): Is there anything more chic than a marble-gold combo? I’d wear this with a cozy knit sweater, some skinny jeans and booties.
25 Graphic Loose-Knit Sweater ($19.90): The fact that I’m out of school doesn’t stop me from participating in the varsity-inspired clothing trend that emerges each fall. I like the simplicity of this sweater; I’d wear it with a pair of denim cutoffs and sneakers!
Quay My Girl Cat-Eye Shades ($48): Oversized tortoise frames always look chic, but I especially love pairing them with cozy neutrals in the fall!
Cap-Toe Ballerina Flats ($25.90): A cap-toe ballet flat is always in style! Wear with your favorite pair of jeans and a crisp blazer. (Check out the other lovely available colors, too.)
Shoulder Bag ($29.99): The fringe trend is still going strong—why not incorporate it into your fall wardrobe? I love the rich berry color of this shoulder bag.
Raw-Cut Wool Fedora ($22.90): This roundup wouldn’t be complete without one of my favorite accessories: a hat! A classic wool fedora will take me straight into fall.
Cutout Faux Suede Flats ($24.90): I’m obsessed with the style of this flat—the cutouts are so chic!
Loose-Knit Cardigan ($34.95): Cardigans and sweater coats are always a staple in my transitional wardrobes. I love that this one looks cozy but not bulky!
