When my family and I moved into our current home, I was determined to have it perfectly designed and “finished” within a few months. As you’ve probably already guessed, that determination soon gave way to the juggling of a busy work schedule and a very active toddler. Fast-forward to over a year later, and I’m still working on it. Some people insist that you never really stop working on your home design, but I’m happy to say that I’m getting much closer to completion.
One of the main projects to be tackled in our home was the living room—it needed a major update. Not that the stuff inside it wasn’t lovely or stylish, but there was just something slightly off about it all. After a lot of spontaneous purchases and changes in my personal style, the things we’d collected just didn’t seem to fit together in the space. One item that especially needed replacing: our sofa.
Now, our former sofa was pretty stylish and cool; I’d fallen in love with it immediately when I spotted it in a catalog. But it ended up being too small for our space (and too firm for our taste), so we began the hunt for a new sofa that would better suit our needs. This was no easy task! Our home is on the smaller side, so we didn’t want a sofa that would swallow up too much space; however, we also wanted one that would allow us to sit (or snuggle!) together comfortably. (See the photo below for the “before” picture of our living room.)
I wanted to find a piece that would bring some warmth and color into our home—and with the help of Homepolish, I found the Sven Charme sofa from Bryght. At first I wasn’t sure that a tan leather couch would work in the space, but the company sent me a sample of the sofa’s color and texture, which was very helpful. After testing out the sample with other fabrics and art that I hoped to include in the room, I felt confident in the sofa’s color and texture.
Our only remaining concern was that we’d be buying a couch that we had never actually sat on. A lot of people probably have similar fears when shopping for furniture online. I had to trust the positive reviews that I read; luckily, they didn’t let me down. This couch is seriously comfortable, and our entire family (even our dog Lucca) is obsessed with it.
The other great thing about the Sven Charme sofa is that it has a naturally distressed look. This gives it a vintage feel, which will help hide future wear and tear beautifully.
I honestly could not be happier with the way this sofa has elevated our living room’s style. It’s really made a dramatic difference. (Plus, it looks fabulous with the Glitter Guide x Lulu & Georgia “Elodie” rug!)

I’m thinking about buying this sofa from Bryght in grey. My husband is a little skeptical as he thinks we won’t be able to both lay on in to watch movies. He would prefer a sectional. I personally think sectionals take too much space and would prefer having a sofa and a comfortable chair on the side. What do you think? Also, some people say leather could be uncomfortable as the skin on your legs will stick to it on a warmer day. Would love to hear about your experience! xoxo
Hey I am thinking of buying Sven charm tan sofa. Did you buy it and if so would love to hear your reviews. Thanks
Where is the picture from above the couch?
