Beauty Remedies You Can Find In Your Fridge

apple cider vinegar face mask

Our friends over at Darling Magazine are back to help us break down the hidden beautifying potential behind a few of our pantry basics! (For example, did you know that coconut oil can be used as a makeup remover?) Enjoy a taste of the feature below, then head to Darling Magazine for the rest of the details.

Just like the food we eat, when it comes to our skin, we like to keep things simple. When we’re buying off the shelves, our motto is “The less ingredients, the better.” And when we DIY it up, our step-by-step is usually short and sweet (the last thing we want after a long day is to spend hours on what should be self-care!). Thanks to Deborah at Hello Natural, we’ve found the pièce de résistance of DIY skin care. These all-natural one-ingredient wonders prove that less is more, using things you probably already have in your pantry or fridge.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR FACE MASK
Apply raw, unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar with a cotton swab; this mask can act as a peel to treat sun spots and uneven pigmentation. Just leave it on for five minutes then rinse with warm water, and you’ve just given yourself an exfoliating treatment.

AVOCADO WRINKLE TREATMENT
The inside part of the avocado that sits closest to the skin’s edge is full of rich nutrients and is the perfect choice for an anti-wrinkle eye treatment. Just mash and apply to the orbital rims, letting it sit for 10–15 minutes. This ingredient can work double duty as a scalp mask as well!

HONEY CELLULITE MASSAGE
Honey is the sole ingredient for this anti-cellulite treatment. Just put two teaspoons on your problem areas and use dry hands to drag the honey back and forth repeatedly. The increasing pressure on your skin from this 5- or 10-minute massage will help force circulation to the area, bringing nutrients and oxygen with it.
