Editor Obsessions: Favorite Fall Lipsticks

Tom Ford, Lip Color in 'Flamingo'

When a new season arrives, we feel compelled to change up our everyday look. We’ve found that one of the easiest ways to make a fresh statement without spending a ton of money (or wasting too much time!) is to update our lipstick arsenal. This fall, we’re hitting the town in the tried-and-true hues that make us feel like we’re putting our best face forward. Find all our current favorites below!

Taylor loves Tom Ford’s Lip Color in ‘Flamingo’ ($52): “I wish I could wear deep, bold berry-hued lipsticks during the fall, but I’ve learned that most of them just don’t suit me. So I stick with my pinks! This one is bright, but it has a subtle berry undertone that makes it a bit richer. It’s a really beautiful shade.”

Caitlin loves Burt’s Bees’s Lip Crayon in ‘Redwood Forest’ ($9): “I started using these lip crayons last year and have been loving the pop of color they provide. I also like the fact that they are 100 percent natural and deeply moisturizing. Redwood Forest’ is my favorite hue.”

Abby loves Revlon’s Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in ‘Black Cherry’ ($7.99) and wet n wild’s Lipstick in ‘Cherry Bomb’ ($1.99): “I can’t get enough of both of these beautifully rich berry colors—plus, you can’t beat their prices! The Revlon one has a creamier finish, whereas the wet n wild one is more matte.”

Carrie loves Yves Saint Laurent’s Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick Limited Edition VIB Rouge ($36):This fall, I’m looking to really up the wow factor with my lipstick. This ultra-rich rouge is practically the only accessory needed to complement a LBD, or even a slouchy sweater paired with skinny jeans!”

Carly loves Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipstick in ‘Venom’ ($22):I love this deep plum shade for a night out in the fall. It looks moody and sexy against an all-black ensemble, and it pops when paired with a neutral outfit.”

Jennifer loves Bite Beauty’s Matte Crème Lip Crayon in ‘Amaretto’ ($24): I usually wear a pink or subtle red lip color, but this nude hue has been a favorite as of late.”

Kara loves NARS’s Satin Lip Pencil in ‘Rikugien’ ($26): “I’ve been wearing mauve lip colors lately. I discovered this one thanks to Sephora’s birthday gift for Beauty Insiders. This hue works so well for daytime, especially at my nine-to-five job—but I can wear it for a night on the town, too.”

Natalie loves Stowaway’s Cheek & Lip Rouge in ‘Burnt Rose’ ($15): “This multitasking rouge is a busy mom’s makeup dream! I use it on my cheeks to liven up my face in the morning, and it’s also become my go-to lip color. I love that the color builds well—it can be as subtle or bold as I’m feeling each day. It goes on matte and feels light as airit’s definitely more like a lip stain than a lipstick. I just top it with my favorite lip balm and I’m set for the day!”

Erin loves Kjaer Weis’s Lip Tint in ‘Goddess’ ($49): I love a deep-hued lip paired with a naked face for fall. This buildable lip tint provides sheer or opaque coverage in seconds, making it a versatile choice.”
