If you’re anything like us here at Glitter Guide, then you don’t often have the chance to celebrate a block of free time in your schedule. The word “busy” crops up far too often in our daily conversations with family and friends, and it’s been ages since we were able to splurge on a little something special just for us! So, the idea of sneaking in some indulgent online shopping on a Friday night from the comfort of our couch (glass of wine in hand!) is our idea of the perfect end to the work week.
Here’s our challenge to you: force a bit of free time into your own calendar to relax and spoil yourself—you deserve it! We recently discovered a new app that makes our sofa shopping sprees as easy as (you guessed it!) one, two, three. It’s called House Account and we’re officially addicted. We love that we can use our smartphone or tablet to shop from boutiques located throughout the country. Here’s how:
1. Download the app by clicking through to the House Account site here. We logged in with Facebook to make signing up a snap.
2. Click the tabs at the top to search and discover the boutiques located nearest to you. HINT: Tap the plus sign to follow the shops you love!
3. When you see something you must have, click the “Chat to buy or learn more” button to connect directly with one of the boutique’s sales associates.
The app boasts access to more than 450 boutiques across the country—from Fivestory in Manhattan to Mecox Gardens in Palm Beach, FL—plus you can buy from designers like Lizzie Fortunato, Figue, Leontine Linens, Candy Shop Vintage and more. We love that we can shop at far away shops that we read about all the time, like Elyse Walker, Stanley Korshak and Tootsies. Even if you’re only looking to “window shop,” the feed (which feels like Instagram, but with more interactivity) is a little too much fun to funnel through. The wares are constantly updating, and you can always buy directly from your phone. Even if you’re on the go, you can browse ‘nearby’ shops whenever and wherever you are. Or, you can follow specific tastemakers to get the scoop on what Town & Country editor Micaela English is loving right now or what Lonny style editor Sarah Storms is pining for at the moment.
For us, the best part is that the app allows you to support small businesses and boutique owners. Not bad for a so-called lazy afternoon or evening spent on the couch!
What’s more, House Account is giving away the sparkliest Edie Parker clutch you ever did see! To enter, head over to our Instagram for more details.
