Jenny Bernheim & Her Home
Since launching her personal style blog, Margo & Me, full time in 2014, Jenny Bernheim has become a stylish sensation. With 178,000 followers (and counting!) on Instagram, tons of website traffic, and features in publications like Elle, W magazine and Harper's Bazaar, it's safe to say that Jenny has made it big—both on- and offline. One glance at her impeccable aesthetic is all it takes to understand how she gained such a massive following so quickly. Whether she's wearing a casual daytime look or an elegant teatime ensemble, Jenny simultaneously radiates California coolness and French sophistication.
And, not surprisingly, her home décor follows suit. Full of luxurious textures, rich colors and trendy touches, her abode is equal parts Versailles-inspired and Los Angeles-influenced. You'll definitely be battling some serious design envy after looking through the photos below!
I think there is a lot to be said for keeping everything feeling super-authentic, and for sharing stories that are genuine. I put a lot of time and thought into each post. It's not just about the photos—it's also about the stories.
We're big fans of your blog, Margo & Me! What made you decide to start it?
I've always felt an innate passion for assisting designers in the branding process, and I have an eye for graphics and design. After studying communications and design in college, I immersed myself in the fashion PR industry straight out of the gate. The digital world was beginning to emerge around that time, and I kept myself at the forefront of it, paving the way for my clients. After four years of working at a leading Los Angeles PR firm, I realized that I could be doing the same thing for brands but through my own platform. Now more than ever, I get to work with designers on a really personal level, which is the most rewarding part for me. It was important to me that I incorporate a personal element into the blog, which is where my dog, Margo, came in. Who doesn't love a French bulldog?! And that's how the blog became Margo & Me!
Describe your home in three words.
Inspired, luxe, peaceful.
How did you make your house feel like a home?
Because we travel so much, coming home to an inviting and comfortable space is really important to us. My husband, Freddie, and I purchased the basics ourselves but had no idea how to pull everything together for that warm, homey feel. I enlisted the help of Katie Hodges Design when it came to finishing touches (pillows, rugs, art, accessories), and our home came alive!
Pretend you're a lawmaker for the day. What's the first law you'd pass?
Wow! That's a loaded question! I could get serious and political, but I think I'll just keep it lighthearted. How about giving free flowers to everyone so that every home is filled with the sweet smell of lilies!?
What are your top three hostessing tips?
- Always have finger food ready for when guests arrive. I always opt for a larger-than-life assortment of cheeses, meats, nuts and jams with crackers and bread.
- Create a signature cocktail—it's a great conversation-starter.
- Never turn down someone's offer to bring something (especially if it's more wine!).
Tell us: Where are the best places to shop in L.A.?
This has changed so much through the years, but at the moment I am honestly the biggest fan of Melrose Place. The new Zimmermann store just opened, which is exquisite, and there’s also Isabel Marant, Equipment, Marc Jacobs—the list goes on and on! Melrose Place is a must-visit.

You dove into Margo & Me full time just last year! Why do you think you've experienced so much success in such a short amount of time?
Oh, well, thank you! When I launched Margo & Me, I was seeing a trend of true street-style blogs. I loved these blogs, but I knew that I wanted to create something a little different. Since I come from a styling/PR background, I knew from the very beginning that I wanted Margo & Me to have more of an editorial feel. With each post, I hope to tell a story through the clothes I'm wearing and the location I'm shooting—just as you see in the pages of your favorite fashion magazine. In addition to my daily outfits, I love any excuse to get dolled up and share something that might inspire your beauty looks. I think there is a lot to be said for keeping everything feeling super-authentic, and for sharing stories that are genuine. I put a lot of time and thought into each post. It's not just about the photos—it's also about the stories.
What city or country do you most want to visit?
What's your spirit animal?
This is such a funny question because I call my husband my spirit animal. But if I had to pick an actual animal, it would most definitely be my French bulldog, Margo.
What was the best part about decorating your home?
Shopping to decorate it!
What are your favorite kinds of photos to share on Instagram?
Photos that feel personal to me, that give followers a glimpse into my life and what I love. I think people enjoy seeing a very real side of life—my home, for example!
What one item should we all have in our closets this season?
A nude heel! A neutral pump goes perfectly with the royal tones and textures we're seeing this fall.
What's your ideal way to end the day?
I love nothing more than finding a yummy recipe, blasting music and enjoying a glass of wine while I cook for my hubby.
