HATCH has always been a natural go-to whenever we get the itch for chic, easy-to-wear clothing. We recently caught up with the brand’s effortlessly fashion-forward founder, Ariane Goldman, and got exclusive insight into her roles as mom, wife and business owner. Learn about her lifestyle and routines below!
What’s the hardest part about balancing motherhood and your career?
It’s all hard, but it’s amazing, too. I never feel fully balanced—I don’t know if any mother actually does—but I can’t imagine it any other way, as having children has only made me want to do more, not less.
Describe a typical morning in your house.
A baby bottle in one hand and Cheerios in the other! Chaos. But blessed chaos. Some of the happiest moments of my day are always first thing in the morning with my babes and Max.
How do you save time in the morning?
What’s your morning beauty routine?
Water, moisturizer, cover-up and bronzer.
How do you stay organized?
I’m actually one of those strange creatures who needs a physical agenda book—a printed calendar or a whiteboard. I like to visualize everything and plot it all out, whether it’s about work or plans with my family. It’s the only way I stay sane.
What are your favorite apps and websites for managing your life?
Wait. Is there an app for that?!
Favorite place to pick up dinner to-go?
Piece of advice to struggling moms trying to do it all?
I’m going to have to be cliché and say, “Do what makes you happy.” If you’re happy, your kids will be happy. Not every day will be miraculous and inspired, I’m guessing, but if you’re working on things you love—a job, in your home, a project, anything—that energy and momentum echoes through your whole family.
You have two hours to yourself—how do you spend it?
I wish I had two hours. I’d go to the gym, for sure.
What’s your go-to outfit when you don’t have time to think about what to wear?
No-brainer: the HATCH Jersey Drape Dress. It’s comfortable, can be easily dressed up or down depending on what I’ve got going on and it’s my default layering piece in the winter.
What stresses you out the most about motherhood?
How do you treat yourself?
Massage. Whenever I can.
What’s your favorite family tradition?
The Goldman Family Smoosh. It’s like a group hug and kiss.
Who do you look up to?
Whoa…all kinds of people, all the time.
“I would give up one hour of sleep for ___.”
