Chic Maternity Clothes Every Pregnant Woman Needs

Our founder divulges her real thoughts on the style struggles of pregnancy, plus she offers heartfelt insight into how you can feel beautiful throughout the transformation!

Pregnancy can be a beautiful time in a woman’s life, but not every woman feels particularly beautiful during pregnancy. There’s the weight gain, swelling (everywhere), the pregnancy mask—I could go on and on. Not that I am really complaining (it just goes with the territory), and luckily it’s usually temporary. So, the last thing you want is to feel frumpy and unstylish.

While it’s much easier to find stylish maternity clothes these days, it can still be difficult. And it’s not only the pregnancy wardrobe that can be difficult. You also have to deal with finding clothes that work while nursing and while juggling a baby, too. I know for me, I am about to be juggling two kiddos, and I want easy clothes that are practical and comfortable, but that also look chic. That’s where Storq comes in.

Pregnancy is uncomfortable enough, so the clothing you wear shouldn’t be.

I was introduced to Storq by my colleague, Caitlin Kruse, while she was pregnant. She raved about the line and how great it was. I couldn’t wait to try it out this time around. One of the biggest things that attracted me to Storq was that the line is so simple and classic. It’s not about trends. It’s about the essentials and versatility, which is great for a maternity wardrobe, because you don’t really want to be spending loads of money on trendy pieces that you won’t wear for very long. With Storq, I can wear chic, easy pieces that go with everything, and then I can still incorporate them into my wardrobe as my family grows. I really love that about the line.

Storq’s clothing is seriously comfortable. There are no tags and bows, and there are as few seams as possible. Like I mentioned before, pregnancy is uncomfortable enough, so the clothing you wear shouldn’t be. I also love that it’s made in the U.S. and that its CEO is based locally here in San Francisco! Read on to learn what some of my favorite pieces are and how I’m styling them for summer.

Most of Storq’s collection comes in the classic black, gray and white. While I enjoy having the variety for my maternity wardrobe, black is definitely my go-to because I find it to be the most flattering. The tank dress is a favorite of mine. I like having a dress that is long like this one, and can easily look casual or dressed up. During the summer, I plan to wear it with my Birkenstock sandals for the ultimate comfy outfit. When I add a summer hat, oversized sunglasses and a denim jacket, the ensemble feels simple, yet not lacking in style.

Another favorite of mine (and one I keep grabbing to wear every day) is this back dress. It’s so soft and hugs all the right places. I’ve worn mine out to dinner, to meetings and on days when I am running casual errands. I particularly like to wear it with a black hat, Jenni Kayne slip-ons and with a fun summery bag.

Another great option that Storq offers is a Basics Bundle, which includes the shorter black dress, leggings, a skirt and a tank. It’s a great way to get acquainted with the brand and to start building a maternity capsule wardrobe.

Ultimately, I don’t mind admitting that I will be happily wearing my Storq pieces throughout the rest of my pregnancy and long afterward, too. The company has found a new loyal customer in me, that’s for sure!
