Who’s ready for fall? We know we are, that’s for sure. When looking to update our fall wardrobes, kate spade new york has long been a favorite source of inspiration. This season’s collection doesn’t disappoint. Caitlin had fun picking out a new pair of flats and, below, she’s sharing just how versatile they really are!
I’ve been trying to build a capsule wardrobe this year. My closet space is limited in my new house, so I’ve been thinking really hard about the items I bring into it. Each season, I pick up a handful of new items, and this go-around I was in dire need of a new pair of flats. These rose gold Emma flats were exactly what I was looking for! The metallic hue is beautiful and they are so comfortable, too. I wore them at a wedding last weekend for more than 10 hours with no trouble!
I love that these flats work whether I’m headed to the park with my daughter in a pair of jeans and a tee, or I’m hitting the town at night in a formal dress. That subtle hint of shimmer is all any outfit needs to make it something special. As a busy working mom, I really appreciate a wardrobe essential that can add instant personality without requiring a whole lot of extra effort.
To be honest, I was initially a little apprehensive about the rose gold color, but was surprised to find that it matches just about everything in my wardrobe, including this chunky knit sweater (which unfortunately has recently sold out, but here’s a fun striped sweater to try) and my kate spade new york Byrdie bag. I think sometimes we forget that metallic accents work the same way neutrals do—just with a little more pop! The bow accent is another favorite detail that sets these flats apart from others I’ve tried this season.

Have you given metallic flats a try this season? If so, we’d love to know how you’ve styled them. The good news is that there’s really no “right” or “wrong” way to wear these ultra-feminine and flattering shoes. So, get creative and do what feels comfortable for you this fall.
