The Top Fall Denim Trends At Every Price Point

The Top Fall Denim Trends At Every Price Point

Below, contributor Kaleigh Glaza simplifies our need for fresh denim silhouettes this fall with a roundup of five trends to try.

With the need for back-to-school outfits and brand new runway fashion shows to watch, fall is the perfect season to stock up on new styles. And one trend you definitely won’t want to miss out on is fall denim. This classic textile is a simple way to add an easygoing vibe to any outfit, but now’s the time to put a fresh spin on a look you already love. So, while we would never tell you to abandon your go-to skinny or boyfriend jeans, here are five other options to try.

Flared Jeans

Don’t pull out your mom’s old bell-bottoms! These are a new type of mini flare, perfectly paired with a stacked boot for daytime or a spiky heel at night. This style is ideal for making petite girls’ legs look longer—just make sure to get them hemmed if needed.

Novelty Denim

Take a page out of the closets of stars like Rihanna and amp up your jeans with patches, pins or even paint splatters. This is not a look for the faint of heart, so make sure you really love your jeans before you pull the trigger. Keep the rest of your outfit sleek with a simple shirt and bomber jacket (another fall favorite this year).

Frayed Edges

Not ready to take the full plunge with ’90s patches? Take just a half step with frayed edges. This detailing is a fun way to draw attention to a great pair of shoes, and you can approach the trend at varying degrees. Ease your way in with a few short frays before you go full throttle with longer frayed edges. They’ll have you wanting to twirl with abandon!

Coated Denim

This is the simplest trend to jump on board with if you’re a fan of the skinny jean. Coated denim is best worn in a form-hugging silhouette, and is equally perfect for the sexy glamazon as it is a tomboy. To the former, work these like a pair of leather leggings and pair them with a bold lip and heels, and to the latter, pair them with flat boots and a casual ball cap.

Celebrity Collaborations

If you want to dress like your girl crush, you’re in luck this fall! There’s no real way to save on these collections, but if you want to rock jeans that come with the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stamp of approval, then it’s worth it. Other partnerships to watch are Jessica Alba’s line for DL1961 and Karlie Kloss’s collaboration with Express that will have you looking “Like a Kloss.”
