Next week, I’m heading to Italy! I can hardly believe it, I’ve been hoping for a trip to Europe for more than a year and now it’s a reality! I always tend to overpack, so this time, I’m determined to narrow down my pieces to a capsule wardrobe that I can mix and match and challenge myself to packing in a small suitcase. We’ll be taking several trains, so I’d love to not have to worry about cumbersome luggage—I have one small roller suitcase and my sleek new weekend bag. I picked up a few new pieces from Sole Society‘s new spring arrivals for the trip. They are so versatile and also on-trend, and best of all, they don’t take up much space in my suitcase! I always like to try my outfits on before I travel, so today I’m sharing a peek of what’s in my bag and hopefully it inspires your spring wardrobe.
When thinking about how many pairs of pants I want to bring on my trip, I knew I wanted to keep it very simple—a wide leg, my favorite skinny jeans, black jeans and my overalls for fun. I’ve been wearing these white pants non-stop and love how they make an outfit look really sophisticated, perfect for a meeting or dinner. I can’t wait to wear these Katarina heels in Italy. They are the ideal height, seriously so comfortable and go with just about everything in my suitcase! They also pack really well and don’t take up much space.
My go-to look every day is jeans and a blouse, so throwing on a blazer and my Katarina heels dresses it up a bit and makes it more work appropriate (I’ll be in Italy for work part of the time). I’ve had this blazer for years and wear it at least once a week, practically year-round. It’s great to toss on over more casual tops, dresses and silky tanks and will definitely be coming on my trip to Italy because it’s so versatile. I can easily wear this outfit with sneakers for a day of sightseeing, too! I always bring a cross-body bag that zips when I travel along with a tote bag for larger items and when flying.
I’ve been hunting for a comfortable pair of ankle booties with a low heel for so long and was so excited when I found these suede booties on Sole Society. I’m sure they will get the most wear on my trip because I can wear them with jeans and dresses alike. I’ll be packing two super thin, breezy dresses that I can layer under my blazer and wear with tights (if needed). I love the cut-outs on the sides of these booties and the understated pointy toe!
I always bring a few thin striped tee shirts (both long and short sleeve) on trips because I can dress them up or down and they are comfortable for long days. This look is pretty basic until you add the pale blue sandals—my favorite color for spring! I also love how it looks with the camel blazer.
I’ve been on the hunt for overalls since last year and finally found a pair I like. I’ve been wearing them nonstop since! They look so cute with the Madrid Booties, which add the perfect height. I can also wear these overalls with my T-shirt, blouse, blazer and pair them with my heels and sandals for dinner out.
