Now that the end of summer is almost here, we can’t help but look back on the vacations and day trips we took and think about all the trips we would like to take during the fall and winter seasons. While everyone has their own personal favorite places to visit and list of what’s important to bring and do, we couldn’t help but wonder about the travel habits of some of our favorite jet-setters. To give us (and you) some insight, we reached out to a few to find out their favorite places to end the summer, including some very important details, like what they always pack with them, where they like to eat and, of course, their drink of choice!
Where is your favorite place to end the summer (i.e. spend Labor Day weekend), and why?
Cape Cod, Massachusetts. As a California native living in New York City, I need all the quality beach time I can get—and a long weekend spent soaking up the sun and sand (and adorable shingled homes!) in picture-perfect Cape Cod is about as quality as it gets in my book.
What are 5 things you always pack when you travel there?
Favorite place to grab a bite and what do you order?
I love the no-frills, casual New England vibes of The Clam Shack on the docks in Falmouth. A plate of the fried clam strips and onion rings is an indulgent summertime treat that is worth driving out of the way for!
And a drink?
Where do you stay?
My boyfriend and I are very lucky to have family friends that we stay with in Cotuit, but we may finally have to splurge on a stay at the gorgeous Chatham Bars Inn for our next visit.
And what’s one outfit you could wear on repeat while there?
A breezy linen midi dress (like this) and tan flat leather sandals (like these). Add sunglasses for day and a denim jacket at night, and voilà—the perfect transitional look for any shore-side activity.
