Now that the fall is here, we are all about the scents of the season in the form of pretty much anything—from candles and room sprays to food and, of course, beverages like apple cider and pumpkin spice lattes. Glitter Guide contributor, Kara Stout, is here to help us enjoy the scents and tastes of fall with three three delicious and easy-to-make fall-inspired latte recipes that you’re going to want to try ASAP.
With the cooler temperatures fast approaching, it’s easy to imagine cuddling up with a warm latte to stay warm, and luckily, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy this hot beverage. In fact, homemade lattes are easier to make than most people realize. Before I started making my own, I didn’t realize just how simple they are to make. I also thought they wouldn’t taste as good as the ones ordered at coffee shops, but that’s absolutely not the case!
Homemade lattes can be simple, delicious and a huge bonus if you can control the ingredients yourself. Many coffee shop lattes are loaded with sugar or artificial sweeteners, which are detrimental to your health, energy level and skin. That’s why I was so excited to create these three fall-inspired lattes for you. They not only smell absolutely heavenly and taste amazing, but they are dairy-free with no added refined sugars and sweetened either naturally by fruit or a natural sweetener. Also, these three lattes don’t have any coffee added; however, feel free to add in coffee if you’d like. I wanted to provide the basic latte recipes to satisfy those who don’t consume coffee or caffeine and those who do. I personally think coffee could be especially great added to the Pumpkin Pie Latte and the Apple Cider Latte. I would also suggest adding in unflavored collagen peptides (here is my favorite brand) to these lattes if you have it on hand because collagen is great for the skin, hair, nails, joints, bones and overall health. I hope you enjoy these recipes!
Apple Cider Latte
Makes 2
Ingredients
- Homemade hemp milk (see directions on how to easily make it!)
- 1 organic apple
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 ground allspice
- Optional: 1 scoop collagen peptides
Directions
- Make your homemade hemp milk by adding 1½ cups filtered water and 2½ tablespoons hemp seeds to high-powered blender and blend well for 90 seconds.
- Chop apple and add to blender with hemp milk.
- Add cinnamon, cloves and allspice and blend well.
- If you have a Vitamix, blend on high for 3 to 4 minutes to make your latte hot, or you can blend it in the blender and then transfer to the stove to heat up.
- Pour into your favorite fall mug, add cinnamon sprinkles and enjoy!
Pumpkin Pie Latte
Makes 2
Ingredients
- 1½ cups unsweetened almond milk
- ¼ – ½ cup organic pumpkin puree (depending on how much pumpkin flavor you’d like and also how thick. I personally like a lot, so I use ½ cup. You also get all the health benefits of pumpkin!)
- ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1½ tablespoons pure maple syrup (or you can also use honey or coconut sugar to taste)
- Optional: 1 scoop collagen peptides
Directions
- Add almond milk, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, vanilla and maple syrup to blender and blend well.
- If you have a Vitamix, blend on high for 3 to 4 minutes to make your latte hot, or you can blend in blender and then transfer to the stove to heat up.
- Pour into your favorite fall mug, top with coconut cream if you’d like, cinnamon sprinkles, a cinnamon stick and enjoy!
Turmeric Latte
Makes 2
Ingredients
- 1 can organic coconut milk
- 4 teaspoons GOLDE Turmeric Blend – finding a good turmeric blend makes these lattes so easy!
- Optional: 1 scoop collagen peptides
- Optional: natural sweetener of choice (good options could be raw, local honey or liquid Stevia, etc.). Some turmeric blends may have dates, so you wouldn’t need extra sweeteners, but the GOLDE blend has no sweeteners, so feel free to add if need be.
Directions
- Add coconut milk and turmeric blend to blender and blend well.
- If you have a Vitamix, blend on high for 3 to 4 minutes to make your latte hot, or you can blend in blender and then transfer to the stove to heat up.
- Pour into your favorite fall mug, top with cinnamon sprinkles, a small dash of turmeric sprinkles and enjoy!
