A Super Easy 5-Minute Makeup Routine

An easy 5-minute makeup routine? Yeah, sure. I know what you’re thinking. But who among us doesn’t need to save a few minutes each day? Between working full-time on Glitter Guide magic and having a crazy 2-year-old, I don’t really have time to put on a full face each day. I love makeup, and I love playing around with different looks, so I asked my sweet friend and makeup artist extraordinaire, Rosanna Nykanen, to help me craft an easy, but effective 5-minute look.

First, I’m going to do something I’ve never done before. Share my bare, makeup-free face on the internet, so be kind, we’re all friends here.

I don’t know about you, but I struggle with dark circles and dry skin. So the first thing I did to prep my face was tone, moisturize, use primer, etc. You can read my full skincare routine in detail over here. I like to keep my skincare and makeup as clean as possible, so I’m excited to share these products with you.

That’s it. Everything you need for the perfect, day-to-day look. Here’s the full list:

Step one:

After your skin is prepped, apply your favorite CC cream. My personal favorite is IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™Follow that with Milk Blur Stick to create a smooth matte finish. Using a flat blending brush, tap RMS Un Cover-Up Concealer under eyes, around nose and any spots.

Step two:

Using the same brush, sweep Beam eyeshadow from the 100% Pure Pretty Naked Palette II across your eyelids. Then smudge Vivid eyeshadow along lashes with a small pencil brush.

Step three:

Emphasize eyelashes with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, wiggling the wand side to side to get maximum separation.

Step 4:

Dot a bit of Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff on the apples of the cheeks, and tap with fingers until buffer into skin.

Step 5:

Mattify any too-shiny areas of the face with Fenty setting powder, brush some Glossier Boy Brow through brows to shape and finish with a swipe of ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner in Woo Hoo.

Voila! A super easy 5-minute makeup routine that’s perfect for every day. Next time, we’ll take this exact look and transform it into a glam date night look! Stay tuned!
