First off, let me say that if you truly enjoy fall, it’s not basic. The internet is really good at making us feel like the things we love aren’t valid because they’re popular among certain groups. THAT SAID, the same old, same old fall routine can feel a little basic. So while the pumpkin patch and knee-high boots are fun and all, let’s use this year’s autumnal season to go beyond the Pinterest trends and try something new.
Try a new capsule wardrobe
When you hear fall, you think leggings, oversized sweaters and boots, right? Mix it up this year with more “outside-the-box” fashion choices such as combat boots and boyfriend blazers. Building a fall capsule wardrobe makes it super simple, but you can also find some inspiration for layered looks and how to keep your favorite sandals on deck.
Skip the pumpkin spice latte
This year, crank it up a notch and try a pumpkin affogato. You’ll never go back to your old PSL again, trust.
Throw a girl’s only Halloween dinner
I don’t know about you, but I feel like each weekend from October to December, I have some type of “Friendsgiving” event, which is great and wonderful, but can feel repetitive. Change it up by throwing a swanky Halloween sit-down dinner for your best gals. Festive florals, lots of wine, what could be better?
Forget hoarding decorations from Michael’s
This fall, instead of tacking up spiderwebs and letting pumpkins slowly mold away on your porch, try giving your interior a facelift with an easy fall update that can even work in a rental. Making a quick update to your space can help the season feel fresh and exciting.
But you know what? At the end of the day, if what brings you joy is the biggest pumpkin spice latte you can find while wearing your favorite pair of leggings to the pumpkin patch, you do what will make the season the most fun for you.
