Halloween is on a Wednesday this year, which falls smack in the middle of a work week. Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year, and I love being able to get creative with costumes each year. Before my days at Glitter Guide, I spent my weeks in a few different offices ranging from business casual to super stuffy. But did I sacrifice my love for Halloween? Absolutely not. The key to wearing Halloween costumes at work is finding something you’ll be comfy in for 8 hours, and something you won’t feel uncomfortable explaining to your boss.
Here are some cute + comfy Halloween costumes to wear in the office this year:
This could easily be done with all that fun glittery stuff in your closet that doesn’t get to see daylight too often.
Jeans? Check. Striped tee? Check. Add a pom-pom beanie and some round specs and you’re ready to go.
Personally, my favorite “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” look is the white button-up and sleep mask, but going pantless to work is probably not an option for you. Definitely get a stuffed kitty though, because it makes the whole outfit.
I love this modern update to Rosie the Riveter. Combat boots and overalls are already in season, so this would be a super cute and easy Halloween look for work.
This mime costume is a great one if you’re required to dress a little more “business” than “casual.” Pair work slacks with a striped tee and accessorize with suspenders and white gloves.
This one speaks to me because it looks like a really great excuse to be comfy all day and I’m always here for that.
Velma doesn’t get enough credit, if you ask me. This one could be super simple, yet cute. The hair is key though, so you might need a wig for this one.
Another great choice for an office with a stricter dress code. Plus, you can probably fashion this look with a majority of things already in your closet.
Have a girl gang at work? This “Heather’s” costume is super fun and could totally be worn to the office.
I’m including this one from Beyonce’s “711” music video because I actually did it a few years ago. I swapped out the undies for cheetah print shorts though, and it was basically like wearing pajamas to work. Highly recommend.
