5 Outfits The Heathers Would Love Today

“Heathers” is just one of those movies that will always  be at the top of my list. It’s a dark, twisty comedy that’s still legendary in today’s pop culture. But aside from the cliquey girl politics, the fashion is hard to beat. Even if you don’t coordinate with a girl gang on the daily, you can still get inspired by these five outfits the Heathers would totally love today.

Color-blocking is a major component of Heathers fashion. Each Heather had a signature color, which they coordinated each day. I think they would have modernized it a bit with solid color-blocking and sleek silhouettes.

All throughout the movie, the Heathers wore blazers. Plaid and shoulder pads also made a big appearance. In 2019, there’d be a little less shoulder padding and a little more structure to the body.

Heather D. pulled off a really cute blouse-and-suspender combo in the movie. A feminine collar paired with paper bag trousers with suspenders is a super fresh take on a classic accessory.

Is she wearing a scrunchie?! You bet your bottom dollar she is. In the movie, the scrunchie was used as a metaphor for power since the leader of the group wore one to signify her popularity. You don’t have to be quite so metaphorical with yours, but you can definitely make a fashion statement with a scrunchie, bustier, and blazer.

Colored tights were another big staple in “Heathers.” But pair them with ankle boots, a collared shirt and structured trench coat and you’ve got a modernized look.
