Treat Yo’ Self To Self-Care On Valentine’s Day

Ahhhh Valentine’s Day. So much pressure if you’re in a relationship. Still so much pressure if you’re not. A lot of times it feels like no one can really win on this holiday. But it’s time to change all that. It’s time to take back Valentine’s Day! Let’s make it our own and win this dang holiday!

One sure fire way to make Valentine’s Day your own is to focus on self-care this year. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, we all deserve some self-care, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time. But how to treat yo’ self? Maybe some fine leather goods? Or maybe one of these great options from our contributor, Kaleigh Glaza

Relaxation

Get a massage. Take a nap. Read a book. Go for a walk. Do whatever you need to in order to unwind! February can be a tough month what with the cold and the dark and the New Year’s resolutions that have (let’s face it) probably fallen by the wayside. It’s time to relax and just do you.

Indulgence

It wouldn’t be a #treatyoself list without a few treats! This one is especially important for single gals who want to feel extra special. Indulge in something you couldn’t normally “justify” and take some time to just bask in it. If you’re an indulgence novice, start small with something like a spa night. We love these undereye masks and this bubble bath if you need some ideas!

Excitement

Make the most of the day and get out of your comfort zone. This one is perfect for couples or single people! You can take a class, try a new experience, do something unplanned or take a walk on the wild side in whatever way you see fit. Just pump up the excitement and get your heart pumping!

Solitude

This might be the opposite of what people would normally recommend for Valentine’s Day, but that doesn’t make it a bad idea. If you’re in a couple, taking some alone time will let you reflect on your relationship as well as focus solely on yourself. If you’re single, take some true alone time (no friends, no phone, no bar scene) and just enjoy being on your own.

Escape

If all else fails, just get out of dodge! Plan a weekend trip, for you or a whole group, and treat yourself to a far-off adventure. Who knows…you just might find romance is waiting for you at the end of that plane ride.😉
