Wellness Trends I’m Adapting Into My Self-Care Routine

I’m making 2019 a year of wellness. For me, that means taking care of myself mentally, physically and emotionally. However, I do like to change things up. I like to spice up my routine, and these wellness trends are exactly what I need to keep things fresh.

Keep reading for the five 2019 wellness trends that I’m adapting into my current routine!

Focusing on My Sleep

I’ve always been the kind of person that needs more sleep than others. I’m talking at least a good nine hours to feel refreshed. I know, it sounds kind of crazy, but I swear I really need it! Lately, I’ve been focusing on my evening habits to ensure I get the best sleep.

I’m cutting my caffeine intake off earlier in the day, and making sure that I de-stress earlier in the evening. Once I finish my dinner, I’m upstairs with a good book, or relaxing with a moisturizing sheet mask. I also try to be in bed at the same time every night. And if I do have trouble sleeping, I’ll take some melatonin every now and then.

Using CBD Products

I’ve struggled with anxiety all of my life, but it really wasn’t until the last few years that I’ve actually done something about it. CBD is the ‘it’ ingredient of the moment (remember our post on CBD beauty products), and it’s great for dealing with anxiety. CBD oil has made a huge difference! There is so much innovation in this sector happening at the moment, meaning products will only get better.

Crystal Healing

I only recently started to learn about crystals, and I built up a small collection. There is so much to know about crystals, but I really only focus on crystals for creativity, healing and peace. Whenever I feel that things are getting out of control, I’ll grab my selenite wand and focus on my breathing. Or if I feel creatively stuck, I’ll meditate with my citrine crystal.

Stress-Free Workouts

Working out is my least favorite thing to do. Instead of hitting an intense class at the gym, I’ll turn to some tried-and-true yoga poses in the comfort of my home. Sometimes I need fresh air to get a new perspective, and I’ll take my dog out for a walk, or we’ll run around playing ball. I workout with the purpose of centering my mind first.

Clean Skincare

My skin has been playing tricks on me these last few months! It’s been very dry, and breaking out. I tried all of these chemical-filled acne products to help, which really only made things worse. So, I turned to more natural products, and that’s when I really saw a difference. My skin is slowly returning to normal. My favorite ingredient for my severely dry skin has been green tea.
