How You Can Create A Healthier Workspace

At GG, we are a remote team of incredible ladies! But working from home can make it hard to find your workflow, especially if you’re new to the situation. It’s important to not only set up a focused workspace, but to also make it healthy since you’ll be spending a ton of time there.

This applies to all employees, really. Whether you’re in a corporate cubicle or a savvy co-working space, most of us spend so much time at our desks and forget to take our health into account.

Here’s how you can create a healthier workspace!

Great Seating

Feminine

If you spend a lot of time at your desk, a well-designed chair is essential to your health! You spend a lot of time seated, so take into account your posture and support. Are you really getting what you need? An ergonomic chair will keep your back straight, and relieve any strain. It’s definitely an investment worth making.

A Little Greenery

This is coming from a person who killed two cacti: you should really consider a low-maintenance plant for your office space. Plants instantly brighten up any office space, plus, they’ve been known to boost moods and promote creativity. You don’t need to plant a garden around your desk. A tiny little potted succulent at the corner of your desk will do the trick.

Healthy Bites

This was definitely hard for me at first, but I learned to drop the Cheez-Its and opt for more meaningful snacks. I’ve always been a snacker, but I’ve only recently started taking into account the benefits of what I consume at my desk. Go for healthier bites that give you energy and fill you up.

Meaningful Drinks

Keeping hydrated throughout the day is important. I always have a drink at my desk, whether it’s my morning coffee or afternoon water. As a soda lover, I’ve decided to limit myself and only consume drinks that benefit me—just like my snacks!
