I’m not sure what it is, but I’m oddly attracted to quirky, weird décor and furniture. I think it’s partly from my dad. He has always been an advocate for weirdness. He likes things that are different and interesting, and that rubbed off on me. It may also be that I’m an Aquarius and we’re fanatic about being individualistic. Either way, I love it and wanted to share some cool pieces that can bring an unexpected quirk to your home.
I’m always drawn to Isamu Noguchi designs. They are soft, interesting and add a subtle playfulness to any room.
I mean, don’t you want to snuggle in this with a good book?! It looks like it’s about to come alive and give you a big hug. Incredible design by Andrés Reisinger.
Shells are having a real moment. I’ve always been drawn to them. Probably due to my obsession with being a marine biologist for many years of my childhood. It’s also why I’m so drawn to Tamar Mogendorff’s work (which is also delightfully weird). You can see her old studio/home tour here. These lamps are hard to find. Etsy usually is a good place to hunt for a vintage one (which should be your only consideration).
I literally have dreams about the Ultrafragola Mirror by Ettore Sottsass, 1970. It speaks to me on a molecular level. Too bad it’s like $9k!
Oh, the Entler lamp. I’m fairly sure there are only a small percentage of us that are attracted to this. That makes me love it even more!
This ‘Knockabout’ Fiberglass Lounge Chair is ridiculously cool. The ultimate weekend chair.
