8 Things Samantha Is Loving This Month

Happy 2020! It’s my birthday month (yes, month), and I’ve really been enjoying easing back into the new year. My goal this year is to focus more on slow living and less on the amount of things I can accomplish in a day. It may seem counterproductive to some, but I’m excited to take this new approach! For now, here is everything I’ve been enjoying this month!

Allbirds Tree Runners: My brother lives in Allbirds, so I finally decided to give them a try. When I bought mine, they were a little picked over from the holiday season, so I got this funky “Elephant Grass” color, but I kind of love them. And I love how comfortable they are! I have plantar fasciitis, so I’m always trying to find the right pair of shoes, and so far, these are great for my daily walks.

Moon Lists: Questions and Rituals For Self-Reflection: Funny enough, I actually bought this for Taylor for Christmas, but then she bought it for herself before I could give it to her. So I kept it, but I ended up being so into it that I also bought one for my bestie so we could do it together.

Wes Ander Songs: I’m loving this playlist inspired by Wes Anderson films. I’ve had it on repeat for days.

Molly M Designs: I think I discovered Molly’s work on Pinterest, and now I’m obsessed. I love her unique take on laser cut artwork, and am really inspired by the shapes and movement she created with wood and paper. This one is called “Flip Flop 1” and it’s made on wood with peach, cream, hemp, buff, terracotta and pistachio colored paper.

Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion: I’m not really one to re-read books. Once I read a book, I don’t usually feel the need to go back to it since I already know the ending. But I have been re-reading Slouching Towards Bethlehem and it’s even better the second time around. If you’re new to Joan’s work, I can’t recommend this one enough.

The Beauty Chef: I’ve been using The Beauty Chef Gut Primer™ Inner Beauty Support each day and I love it. I have Crohn’s Disease, so I deal with a lot of gut issues, but I find this helps. I also really love the Collagen Inner Beauty Boost and GLOW ADVANCED Inner Beauty Powder in my breakfast smoothies!

Mindsparkle Magazine: I’ve really been loving following this account on IG. I am obsessed with design and branding, especially cool product packaging, because it’s just something I could never do. I love seeing what designers come up with for seemingly ordinary products, and Mindsparkle really showcases some great ones.

“Strange Negotiations” Film: My all-time favorite musician is David Bazan. Everything he does from Pedro the Lion to his collaboration with a college string quartet is pure art. In fact, my husband and I bonded over our love of this lesser-known musician and went to his show together on our first date. This documentary has been in the works for years and I’m so excited it’s finally here. It was absolutely worth the wait.
