8 Books You Need If You Really Love Flowers

There are two things that make my heart sing in this world—books and flowers. Give me either and I am as happy as a clam. Combine the two? Total bliss. I’ve come across some really beautiful books about flowers, and I’ve been lucky enough to snag some really cool vintage ones. Nothing compares to a beautiful bunch of flowers in your arms, but these books are a pretty close second. They’re basically art for your coffee table!

On Flowers: Lessons From An Accidental Florist by Amy Merrick

I’ve followed Amy on IG for years now, so I was so excited when she announced she was coming out with a book. As a “wannabe” florist myself, I couldn’t wait to read her tips and tricks and see her beautiful arrangements in print. Luckily for me, Taylor snagged this one for me for Christmas!

Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden: Grow, Harvest & Arrange Stunning Seasonal Blooms by Erin Benzakein

You’ve probably seen images of Erin Benzakein’s farm on the internet without even realizing it. Basically, she’s living my dream life. She gives you every step-by-step instruction you need for building your own dream flower garden and it’s accompanied by the most beautiful photography.

Vintage Roses: Beautiful Varieties for Home and Garden by Jane Eastoe

Did you know there are more than 150 different species of roses? This book walks you through 60 of the most beautiful types: the most visually appealing, the most fragrant, the easiest to grow, etc. You’ll be an armchair rose gardener in no time.

Cultivated: The Elements of Floral Style by Christin Geall

This book is only a few weeks old and it’s already one of my favorites. With Christin’s arrangements and the incredible style of photography, this book feels more like a museum gallery than a coffee table book. It’s stunning!

Floral Libations by Cassie Winslow

Orange Blossom Moscow Mule? Yes, please! These cocktails taste as good as they look! This curated collection of 41 delightful recipes combine the playful creativity of fashion, the deliciousness of food and the beauty of flowers in one gorgeous glass. Learn how to carefully craft your own signature cocktail and cultivate practical tips on where to buy edible flowers and how to use them in other recipes, too!

Color Me Floral by Kiana Underwood

Kiana is another florist I’ve followed on social media for years. Her work is unreal. Organized by season, the book includes how-tos for 40 arrangements, including a lush green display for spring, an astonishing black bouquet for summer, a striking magenta design for fall and an unexpected, oh-so pretty pink arrangement for winter.

Flowers by Michael De Feo

OK, so not technically a book with photos of flowers, but artwork. This book celebrates artist Michael De Feo and reproduces more than 200 of his flower-inspired images and features commentary from a diverse group of people who have supported his often-clandestine work.

Floret Farm’s A Year in Flowers: Designing Gorgeous Arrangements For Every Season by Erin Benzakein

Another gorgeous book from Erin Benzakein’s farm, this book gives you a full A to Z flower guide, seasonal tips and every tutorial you could dream of for creating your perfect floral piece.
