I personally really enjoy a good piece of snail mail. I’ve had my fair share of pen pals over the years and it seems like there’s no time quite like the present to bring back the tradition. Because we’re sharing activities and ideas for things to do while safely at home, I wanted to share my love of snail mail with you. My stationary stash is large and in charge because I love a good handwritten love letter. And I don’t mean just to your romantic partner. My 3-year-old and I have really been loving sending cards, letters, original toddler artwork, postcards and more during this quarantine.
Even if your recipients live down the street, sending snail mail is a great way to show that you’re thinking about them, even when you can’t physically be with them. Here are some fun ideas for things you can send in the mail:
- Greeting cards
- Favorite quotes
- Recipe cards
- Coloring pages
- Pressed flowers or leaves
- Friendship bracelets
- Begin a drawing and have them add to it before sending it back
- Corny jokes to make them smile
We all need to stay connected while we’re staying safe at home, so grab some stamps and a pen and let your loved ones know you’re thinking about them.
