Now that spring has officially arrived, it’s time to gather a few friends, pack some food, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors with a picnic. When it comes to picnics, we like to create a unique yet effortless experience. Here are some easy tips:
1. The picnic basket is obviously an essential item. Feel free to get creative and use different kinds of containers. We prefer baskets with open tops that can be piled with lots of goodies and made into a showpiece.
2. Keep it easy. Pick a theme to keep things simple (like fruit, cheese, wine, sandwiches). It’s nice to have bread, water, sparkling water, and finger foods (berries, grapes, and nuts) for snacking. If you have more time, get a bit more creative. Store a variety of olives in vintage Ball jars, make a fun dessert in a jar, and mix up a picnic cocktail.
3. Add flowers for a nice and unexpected touch. A splash of color to your basket arrangement will make your picnic extra special. Decorate the flowers in a Ball jar. If you can’t bring glass there are some cute plastic options out there too.
4. Pack a fun blanket! Whether you go for a classic Pendleton or a DIY chevron, it really adds to the outdoorsy ambience.
5. Bring a game. Savor the time outdoors with friends with a deck of cards or a round of checkers. We also recommend bringing a camera or a Polaroid to capture the special moments!

So cute! Remember, most parks and outdoor seating places — like outdoor movie screenings — don’t allow glass containers. Good thing there are some wicked cute melamine and BPA-free options out there!
Good point~ We should add that option in the post. xx
I love your idea of using a non-traditional basket for the picnic carrier! How fun is the basket you have pictured! You can never go wrong with fruit, cheese, sandwiches and wine!
