From holiday parties to happy hours, every event this time of year seems like an excuse to splurge on unhealthy foods and cocktails. By the time New Year’s Eve rolls around, we’re left with a post-party food hangover (the worst!). We asked health blogger and nutritionist Jessica Sepel to share her tips on eating right and staying as fit as possible during the holiday season. We hope you learn and benefit from her tips (below) as much as we did!

Continue to prioritize everyday healthy eating habits:
· Try to add greens at each meal and a daily green juice—this helps boost immunity, too!
· Drink two liters of water a day—it’s important to stay hydrated, especially if you’re drinking alcohol.
· It’s O.K. to say no—be confident and very politely say, “No thanks.”
· Don’t let one splurge spiral you out of control—recommit to your healthy eating habits right away.
On slide 5 of 7, what are the black and green things on her feet? And where do I get them?
I think people call them yoga shoes. Nike has them as “Nike Studio Wrap Pack”
Great article, I just got back from the store to begin again green juicing. So the timing couldn’t be better. Very encouraging.
This is something I absolutely struggle with, but her approach seems obtainable. I mean, a few green smoothies and a few sugar cookies…it all balances out, right? ;) Xo, Alison

Great tips! It’s especially important to remember to not beat yourself up during the holidays.

Food hangover is something I’m not familiar with, but lowering alcohol intake is a good advice, since it’s just empty and useless calories anyway. And I think I can manage going for a walk a few times, pretending it’s exercising ;)
